Lunch & Learn – Cooking for One or Two

Lunch & Learn: cooking for one or two
The traditional family dinner table is a rarity in today’s world. Cooking for one or two–whether you’re single, divorced, widowed, “empty-nesters,” or have a traveling spouse–is admittedly a challenge.
On Friday, February 7, learn more about cooking for one or two at the next installment of Coffey Health System’s Lunch & Learn program. Jill Barnhardt from Coffey County Extension Family and Consumer Science office will share tips so you can be cooking healthy and efficiently for a smaller household in no time.
“Nutritious meals are important for everyone and are sometimes difficult for one or two,” states Barnhardt. “This program will focus on foods that people have on hand and easy ways to put them together.”
You’ll also learn recipes that fit with your tastes and time requirements. Don’t throw out your favorite family recipes. You can adapt many of them to fit your current household size.
The noon presentation takes place in Coffey County Hospital’s Allen Woods 2 conference room.
Attendance and lunch are free. Seating is limited, so register today by calling Virginia DuBuke at (620) 364-2121 Ext. 4174. Evening callers may leave a voice-mail. Reservations are also taken online at www.coffeyhealth.org.
The Lunch and Learn series is a community service of Coffey Health System.
