Girls Slumber Party at the Rec - Thursday, April 1st, 8:00p.m.-7:30 a.m.
Swimming, pizza, and fun will be on the agenda for thisgirls only sleepover.  Bring a towel, swimsuit, sleeping bag , and any snack food you might want for the evening.  There will be a 2 a.m. quiet time.  Please do not bring cell phones or stuffed animals!   Girls Grades 1-6

Area Easter Egg hunts - Saturday, April 3rd
Burlington Easter egg hunt will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at Kelley Park. Children infant through 11 will be divided into the following age groups: infant-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-11. In case of inclement weather, the hunt will be held at the Rec Center.  The Easter Bunny will arrive at 9:30 a.m. and will be there after the hunt. 

Gridley the morning will start off with a bake sale 9 a.m. April 3 at the Hive.  Proceeds from this sale will go toward school activities.  The Easter Bunny will arrive 10 a.m. at the Hive with an Easter egg for each child pre-school age through sixth-grade. Contained in the egg will be four numbers corresponding to an area business or organization.  Those numbers can be presented
at each location for a treat.

Lebo, an Easter egg hunt will be 10 a.m. April 3 at Jones Park. In case of inclement weather, the hunt will be held in the school gym. The hunt is for children infant through thirdgrade.  In LeRoy, an Easter egg hunt will be 10:30 a.m. April 3 at the city park.  Children infant through fourth-grade are invited to participate. In the event of cold and/or rainy weather, the hunt will be held in the gymnasium.

New Strawn, the New Strawn Community Improvement Organization (NSCIO) will host an Easter egg hunt for age groups infant- 3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12, at 10 a.m. April 3 at the Jones Park shelter house. In case of inclement weather, the event will move to the community center. Upon arrival, be sure to check in for a prize drawing. Donations are being accepted at New Strawn City Hall for individually wrapped small candy.

Waverly, the annual Easter egg hunt will be held 10 a.m. April 3 at Jones Park. In case of inclement weather, the hunt will be held at the fire station, 210 Pearson.  In Neosho Rapids, an Easter egg hunt will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27, at the community center for ages 0-10 years old. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in the old junior high building. Children, wear your homemade Easter bonnet/cap and enter into the contest. Prizes will be awarded. The event is sponsored by Neosho Rapids Community Projects committee and Lion’s Club

Elderfest - Friday, April 9th, 9:30 a.m.
Annual event sponsored by several area agencies.  You will enjoy educational sessions on topics suck as health, exercise, and nutrition.  There will be screenings such as blood pressure and diabetes from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Also included will be a morning snack and lunch.  The entire day is free to the public.  This event is sponsored by Coffey Health Systems, Family Nutrition Program - KSU Research and Extintion (Coffey County), and Recreatioin.

Movie Day at the Rec - Wednesday, April 14th, 3:30 p.m.
Settle in with a 25 cent bag of popcorn and enjoy a G or PG rated movie in the conference room at the Rec.  All ages are invited to join the fun as long as they are willing to watch the movie quietly.

Daddy Daughter Date Night at the Rec - Friday, April 23rd,  7-9 p.m.
Are you ready to shake, rattle and roll? Dads, don't miss out on this memorable event with your daughter!  You will dance the night away to the tunes of the oldies.  Girls, wear your finery and plan to have a good time with dear ole' dad.  Girls of any age are invited to attend this event with their dad or father figure (uncle, grandpa, friend, etc.) An hors d'oeuvres table will be set up.

Middle School Dance - Saturday, April 24th, 7:30-9:30p.m.
Enjoy a dance just for you admist the beautifully decorated gym at the Rec Center.  The D.J. will be playing some of your favorite songs!  Light snacks will also be included.  Support this event and have fun with your friends! This is not just for Burlington kids - everyone is invited.  $5 a person
